TANNAHILL WEAVERS

The Tannahill Weavers have received worldwide accolades over the years for their exuberant performances and outstanding recording efforts that seemingly can't be bettered - yet continue to do just that! They have that unique combination of traditional melodies, rich vocals, and driving rhythmic accompaniment that make their shows unforgettable. They were the first Scottish trad folk band to harness the power of the bagpipes into their repertoire, and have paved the way for succeeding folk bands to break free of the totally traditional mold.

The Winnipeg Free Press noted, "The Tannahill Weavers, if properly harnessed - could probably power an entire city for a year on the strength of last night's concert alone.”  In 2011 the band was inducted into the Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame, and have won awards such as the Scotstar award for Best Folk Record of the Year; and the Indie awards for Celtic Album of the Year, and been nominated at the MG Alba Scots Trad Music awards for Folk Band of the Year. They are now firmly established as one of the premier groups on the concert stage, and considered a national treasure.

We hope everyone is doing well, but we and others know that things are not as they were before Covid, and the change in administration concerning issues such as immigration. More foreign artists are having difficulty getting in and out of the US, and venues are still trying to recover from Covid, and not able to give the guarantees that foreign artists need to tour. So we are limited in booking our foreign artists in the US for now, until the situation improves for both artists and venues. We are sorry that things have come to this, and we hope that the climate for artists improves soon!
