Gadan is comprised of four experienced and well-known musicians in Irish trad and European folk/rock scene, with years of touring in the major European and US festivals of traditional and contemporary folk music.

An impactful repertoire with a powerful live appeal and a sound comparable in power and energy to new-trad acts such as Talisk, We Banjo 3, The East Pointers, or Rura, but with a unique identity thanks to years of experience in several folk genres, from Appalachian & Old Time to Scottish, and English folk and traditional music.

Two banjos – tenor & clawhammer – fiddle, mandolin, bouzouki and guitar combine in a “strings only” sound utilizing the energy from stellar musicianship with a hint of electronics and driven by a powerful rhythmic pulse. A loop of increasing aural power, building momentum for the the audience with the wide spectrum of contemporary yet traditional tones.

Andrea Verga: mandolin, banjo, vocals

Jacopo Ventura: guitar, bouzouki, vocals

Joan Gatti: fiddle

Lorenzo Testa: tenor banjo, mandolin, guitar, vocals

We hope everyone is doing well, but we and others know that things are not as they were before Covid, and the change in administration concerning issues such as immigration. More foreign artists are having difficulty getting in and out of the US, and venues are still trying to recover from Covid, and not able to give the guarantees that foreign artists need to tour. So we are limited in booking our foreign artists in the US for now, until the situation improves for both artists and venues. We are sorry that things have come to this, and we hope that the climate for artists improves soon!
